American History I

AHI students have been discussing WWII.  Its causes, events, the Holocaust, and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki among other events.



EXTRA CREDIT: There has been much discussion lately on the use of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  Explain the basic arguments for and against the use of the bomb.

American History II

American History II students are completing their unit on the Holocaust in Europe.  They have discussed the causes of the Holocaust, the rise of Hitler, and how Germans could commit heinous acts against innocent people.  We also watched Schindler's List.


EXTRA CREDIT: Describe what you consider to be a major theme of Schindler's List and explain why you believe this to be true.


EXTRA CREDIT: Write a short essay on how good people can commit atrocious acts against other human beings.

American History II

American History II classes are finishing our unit on the American Civil Rights Unit.  We have discussed all the major events beginning with Jackie Robinson and ending with the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.




EXTRA CREDIT: After watching the film 42 , how would you summarize the significance of Jackie Robinson?  And how would your describe his personal motivation and discipline?

American History I

American History I students are discussing the causes of WWI and how these causes led to the outbreak of war.  In addition, we have recently completed a writing assignment on Theodore Roosevelt based upon his biography.




EXTRA CREDIT: 1.    Which of the four long term causes or policies that led to WWI were/are the most important and why?  Your answer is worth from 2-10 points.  So make it good.

                             2.    How would you characterize Teddy Roosevelt?  His personality, his views of the land, and his views of our country's role in the world?
