American History I classes have been discussing western settlement.  The conflict with indigenous tribes and the early mining, logging, farming, and livestock industries.

EXTRA CREDIT: Discuss the Indian policies of the US government and the success or lack of success of each in the settlement of the west.

  1. When people started to come to the west and settle they came in contacted with other people they had not seen before. When they found out that people could be hurt by them the government said that the Indians had to live on the rez that the government gave them. But when the indians started to die because they couldn't feed them selves. The places they where put was out of reach of the animals that they needed to live on..

  2. Well the government wanted to put all of the Indians on reservations. The ones that did not want to go got killed. The Indians rebelled because there way of life was gone. The government also wanted to take away there way of life by putting the kids through boarding schools. They succeed at taking away there cutler. Now days there is very little native Americans that can speak native tongue.
