AHII
American History II students are currently watching the film 9-11.
EXTRA CREDIT: How does this film compare with other films of 9-11 that you have seen, such as Zero: 9-11?
The film 9-11 does not really compare to the other videos such as Zero 9-11 because this particular film is not trying to press a point. It is just a documentary of the firefighters that were in the buildings as they were hit. The other movies are trying to make a point of conspiracy or something similar, Zero 9-11 for example presses the idea that it was all a conspiracy and no planes had hit the trade centers or the pentagon. That film is put together by a group of Italians and foreign celebrities that were giving their "professional" opinion. The film 9-11 however leaves nothing to the imagination what you see on the film is what you get there is no other content that leaves you wondering what happened. Rob McClure
Both of the movies are very different from each other. They focus on the same issue but have very different views on what happened. The main focus of Zero 9-11 was to bring alternative theories to those provided by our government. They tried to convince our country that 9-11 is a big conspiracy by our government.9-11 had a totally different focus and main point to their film. They didn't criticize our government or try to provide alternative theories to what cause the events that occurred. They gave the point of view from the firefighters perspective. Emma Flannery
The film "9-11" was well made and doesn't compare to the other film we watched, simply due to the fact that it was made to show the events that took place on September 11th, 2001 from the view of the firefighters on duty in New York City. The other film that the class watched about 9-11 was "Zero:9-11" which attempted to prove that the events indeed did not happen the way the media and government said. Though both films did a great job of arguing their points, I feel that "9-11" was better done, mainly because the film's purpose wasn't to change my opinion on what happened that day. -Hunter Price
It's hard to compare these two films because "9-11" started as just a firefighter documentary and "Zero 9-11" was a film made to make people believe that 9-11 was all a conspiracy and that it was planned by the people running our nation. "9-11" showed the real events of what happened and what the firefighters and the people of New York City were going through that day, while "Zero 9-11" showed digital visuals of what other people thought happened. I learned a lot more from the firefighter documentary then I did from "Zero 9-11." Tanner Peterson
Zero 911 can't be compared to the film 911 because they have completely different views of the event. In Zero 911 it showed that it was a conspiracy and planned by our government. This film was a one sided view of the tragic event. However, the 911 film was a documentary of fire fighters and what they witnessed that day. Both films are viewing the same event but in different concepts. I got more out of the 911 documentary because not only did it show the firefighters view, it showed how it effected many other people as well.- jazzy haidle
These films differed in many ways. The film "9-11" was meant to be a documentary on the firefighters of New York City. The terrorist attacks just ended up happening during the time of filming. The film "Zero 9-11" was filled with conspiracy theories about the government hiding information from the citizens of the United States. The film "9-11" helped me remember that 9-11 wasn't just a day where the U.S. Government supposedly deceived the citizens of the United States. It was the day that thousands of Americans were killed and that hundreds of millions of Americans will remember.
The film "9-11" was probably the best film I have seen about 9/11. A lot of the reason for that is because the film makers are not trying to convince you of anything. This film was an attempt to document a firefighter but turned out to capture the tragic events of 9/11 on film. In comparison to Zero 9/11, that film seemed as though they were trying to convince us that 9/11 was a conspiracy whereas "9-11" was actual footage and was able to give viewers information on what really happened during that day. --Kayla Neuman
The to films are very unalike, "9-11" is a fireman documentary gone astray, they just happened to be in the right place at the right time, or as many might see it the wrong place at the wrong time. They happened to see the 9-11 terrorist attack first hand, while the film "Zero 9-11" is more of a movie trying to make everyone believe that 9-11 was a conspiracy. --Michael Sieler
I liked this film, because someone isn't shoving their views down your throat. They're just trying to tell the story of what happened. I think it's interesting that a documentary about a firefighter, but it turned into one about 9/11. It had more impact than Zero:9/11 because these men were actually there and you're watching it was it happened.
