American History I students are discussing the causes and major events associated with World War I.
EXTRA CREDIT: What do you think is the most important long term cause to WWI and why?
I personally think that the womens act movement was the most important part of the war. After the war, women were aloud to vote and then slowly were aloud into more things. So pretty much equality came from WW1.
I think the main long term causes that started WW1 was the sinking of the ships. Then after Germany agreed not to sink ships with out warning them to let them de-board the ships before sinking them, they sank the a ship anyways. WW1 was caused by Germany and they wanted Mexico to have war with us while they finished destroying the British.
I think the most important long term cause of WWI is European countries become suspicious of each other, building their armies, and then just becoming more and more tense and angry with each other. Then when Archduke Ferdinand was killed, everyone had a reason to team up and go to war.
Well one of the major causes of the war was how sveral countries just started joimimg forces together and and making themselves have enemies. So after Ausrtia Hungary declared war on Serbia Ruddia stepped in to aid Serbia and then nation after nation just continued to join the war until it was a massive war between lots of diferent countries. Another big cause of WWI was the the rise of imperialism. This lead to countries becoming greedy about how big their country was and how wealthy it was. So this caused countries to try and overpower other nations so that they could further expand to become a dominant and wealthy country. Then therte was militarism to further make countries establish their power and trying toget other countries to fear them. As militaries size, efficency and their technology advanced countries wanted to use their miliary to establish fear and respect from other countries so that tyhey could have and take whatever they wanted. Then as the war was first sparked between Serbia and Austria Hungary it was all about how Serbia wanted Bosnia to be a part of their country rather than a part of Ausrtia Hungary, which is known as Nationalism. After that all countries just contyinued to fight over the smaller places that could be useful to them to support and present their dominance and power. Lastly there was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand which sparked snger and just started a fight, -Dusty Schlund -!st Period
Alliances was the main cause for the long term in the war. It was because the Triple Alliance and Triple Entente affected on who fought who in the war. all of these countries had so much power and could have turned on each other at anytime.
