  1. I think he was a man of the people because he hated big goverment and supported state goverments and small banks. He also didnt support tarrifs.

  3. i think Andrew Jackson was a man of the people because everyone liked him, he did things like win the battle of New Orleans in 1812, that helped him become popular with people.

  4. The answer is definitely debatable Andrew Jackson was a man of the people in a matter of flowing through with the bettering of his people but he also carried on the trail of tears, which in my opinion was not an act for his people. Andrew Jackson wanted to expand west indeed but he had to remove the natives from their land to do so.. so i suppose the question still stands

  5. I don't think Jackson was a man of the people. He only supported white male farmers. He never attempted better the lives of the Indians or the slaves.

  6. I dont think that andrew jackson was a man of the people, for the simple fact that he fired every one that worked close to him and hired all of his close friends, he also only supported white male farmers. he did do some good things like not support terrifs but that is not enough to convince me that he was a man of the people.

  7. I think that for common white farmers Jackson was definetly a man of the people because he favored them. But he outlawed teaching slaves and didn't expand women rights and that's not acting as a man of all the people.--Brianna Lindgren

  8. Andrew Jckson was a man of the people, but only if you were a specific type of person. The type of person that you had to be to get recognition or help from what andrew jackson did was a male white famer. He did not do anything for slavery, indians or womens rights. so he was really only a man of the specif type of people

  9. Andrew Jackson was a man of many people, but he also wasn't because he was against the wealthy. In the government he hired all of his friends to lead the country and he fired all of the government peoples.Like all presidents they are liked by people and then hated by some. He accomplished many tasks like ridding of tariffs and national banks.

  10. Lacey Says..

I don't think that Andrew Jackson was a man of the people. Although he abolished national banks and expanded state banks, he did more to show he was not a man of the people. He did not support woman's rights. He expanded slavery. And he put his friends in power with the Spoil's System. He also was responsible for the death of many Indians in the Indian Removal Act of 1830.

  11. Andrew Jackson was a man of certain people. he was all for the white men farmers. but not much of anyone else, himself was a slave owner, and he used the spoils system to hire all of his friends into congress. so I don't believe he was a man of the people.
