AHI

Today and yesterday AHI students discussed and then viewed some of the events or causes to the American Civil War. The film was episode I "The Cause" of the Civil War by Ken Burns. Today we talked about the significance of John Brown's raid on the arsenal at Harper's Ferry, Virginia and the subsequent trial of John Brown. Additionally, we talked about the election of Abraham Lincoln and the secession of southern states as a result of that election.

AHI Extra Credit Question for December 14th--January1st: Your question is a rather straight forward one, but one that needs explanation. What do you think is the single most important event that contributed the most to the cause of the Civil War and more importantly, WHY? (Bonus 1 to 10 points depending on how thorough your explanation is.)
