Yesterday, December 10, 2009 AHII students discussed the final two chapters in Orwell's Animal Farm. Our discussion started with their impressions of the ending and if it was consistent with the plot. Then we evaluated what Orwell was saying to the reader about themes, such as power and corruption, knowledge and power, an uneducated or niave working class, or what types of propaganda or strategies of control were used to manipulate the working animals.
EXTRA credit for December 14th to January 1st:
What was the most effective strategy that the pigs used to control the working animals and more importantly, why do you think this is the most important tactic? ( bonus points will range from 1--10 depending on your explanation.)
