  1. The most important right in the First Amendment is the freedom of speech. This is the most important right in my opinion because without the freedom to say what we feel the government in effect could rule without the peoples consent. After reading much of 1984 I understand the importance and greatness of being able to speak freely as we feel.

  2. In the first Amendment there are several rights that are given. I think the most important is the freedom of speech. This right allows anyone to speak their mind and allow them to fight for their own beliefs. Without this right people would be getting walked over by all other more powerful people. Although there are several other rights in the first amendment the freedom of speech is the most important and most valuable for the American people.

  3. The Bill of Rights include the first 10 amendments to The Constitution. The first amendment states "congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances". I think that the most important part of the first amendment is the freedom of religion. Although I may not take a big role in religion I think it is important for citizens to have the right to believe in their own religion. I think it is against moral and ethical values to tell someone that they have to believe in your "god" or higher being. The first amendment provides many freedoms that everyone takes for granted everyday.

  4. I think that the most important right is the freedom of speech. It allows you to say what you want without getting into trouble, for the most part. It allows you to express your own thoughts an feelings. That way you wont end up living in a world like 1984.

  5. The most important right discussed in the First Amendment is freedom of speech. This enables you to communicate your ideas verbally. This is important because everyone is entitled to their own opinion and to state what they think. Without this we wouldn't be able to stand up for ourselves. We definitely take this right for granted, but without this our society would end up like the society explained in Orwell's novel 1984, where they try to make everyone the same and they are not able to express themselves at all. All of the rights are very important in the First Amendment and we wouldn't be the same if we didn't have those rights, but I definitely think that freedom of speech is the most cherished right we have. We were all born to stand out and be different, so we must be able to express ourselves in any way we want to do so.

  6. The most important right in the First Amendment is the freedom of speech. Being able to defend yourself and say what you want where you want. Having the ability to express your feelings and opinions with out getting in trouble is a pretty big deal. Many countries don't have this privilege especially for women. In the U.S. for women to have the freedom to say what they want and actually have it be listened to is a big achievement. Hopefully other countries will learn from this and freedom of speech can spread to other places.

  7. The most important right i think is mainly freedom of speech, everyone has their opinion and this right gives every person to speak their thoughts and opinions or beliefs. Without this right people wouldn't be their own person with no personal thoughts, nobody would know how to stick up for themselves nor have a opinion on anything.

  8. After reveiwing the 1st amendment I believe that the most important right is freedom of speech. If we didn't have the freedom to voice our opinions I think the government would begin to rule unfairly, and more issues would arise. For example in the book 1984, the government has oppressed it's citizens in so many ways that in order to protect it's self it has hired people to look out for anyone who may question there power and choices.

  9. We recently studied the Bill of Rights and learned about the first amendment. The first amendment offers the freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly and petition. Of the five rights I feel that freedom of speech is the most important in our society. This right gives every citizen the ability to speak their mind on any topic. That is so important, if we weren't able to do that i think our country would be very different. The government would be much stronger and the citizens wouldn't be able to stand up for there rights. All the rights are important but the freedom of speech is by far the most important.
