American History II students are finishing the original US Constitution. Today we are taking a pre-citizenship test to prepare the students for the regular test at the end of the semester.
EXTRA CREDIT: What is your reaction to taking the citizenship test? Was it easy, difficult? Explain.
I think that by taking the Citizenship test I learned how much people have to know about our country. Out of 100 questions I did fairly well will dates and government types. I need to be more aware of the names of people who are in the Senate and Montana government. The test was a good learning experience for the whole class.
ReplyDeleteI think that taking the citizenship test was very eye opening and a great way to let students know how difficult it is for some to become American Citizens. I liked taking the citizenship test I will have to study before taking it again but it showed me areas that I need to learn more about. I think it is important to keep making this an assignment.
ReplyDeleteI feel that the citizenship test was an easy test. If you know half of the answers on the test then you could at least answer 20 more questions to achieve a 70 because so many of the questions were repeated with different wording. I passed the first time; yet, I have also been through a history class almost every year of school so I can understand people who haven't taken these classes would have trouble.
ReplyDeleteWhen I took the citizen test I was very surprised. Many of the questions were obvious and common sense, but others were extremely difficult. It made me realize how many names and people I don't pay attention to in the government today. Also, I thought it was nice that people who are trying to become a citizen in this country have to know this many details about the country. I didn't do that great on the test, but with a little studying, I think I'll be able to pass the test with ease.
ReplyDeleteIn taking the citizenship test it was a big learning experience and it told me that I don't know the majority of things having to do with the politics and the general knowledge of our country. I did very poorly on the citizenship test which tells me that I don't know the names of people who are in office places and the dates of certain people's terms. When I take this test again at the end of the chapter I hope to improve my score by a lot and be able to tell people that I would be able to get back into this country if for any reason I had to take this test for real.
ReplyDeleteI could see how this test would be hard for people who didn't live in our country. They would find it difficult because they weren't taught this in school. I found the test pretty easy because I knew most of the answers.
ReplyDeleteCOURTNEY HARMON- If i wasn't already born in the United States and automatically a citizen...I would be deported. This test was challenging. Especially being a sort of fill in the blank type answering. I can definitely understand how this could be extremely challenging to people who aren't citizens.
ReplyDeleteAfter taking the citizen test, it really made me realize how much people have to know about our country in order to gain citizenship. I found it quite difficult actually, and did pretty poorly on it. It was definitely an eye opener and made me realize how lucky I am that I don't have to take the test, I was just given my citizenship at birth. I gained a new respect for those who go through the process to become a U.S. citizen, because it's not simple. The test also made me realize that I need to be more aware of the government systems and the names of the people who control our country. I should take more time to learn about the country I live in, rather than just take my citizenship for granted.
ReplyDeleteThis Citizenship test was easy at first, and it would have been really easy if I had not been spacing out. All of the questions were easy and things that I have learned, although I had forgotten many of them. I forgot the little facts and things like "Who wrote the Star Spangled Banner" and when we went over it and you said "Francis Key Scott" I instantly remembered. So I know all of the answers, but when I took it I had forgotten many of them. The test in general is easy and very repetitive, but for someone who didn't have all of the history classes us Americans have then I can see how it would be difficult. I think in general it is actually very easy, and would be very effective for determining weather or not somebody should become a citizen of our amazing country.
