American History II are discussing the Articles of the US Constitution. The powers of each branch of government and the qualifications for each.
EXTRA CREDIT: Discuss how Congress can create agencies such as the US Forest Service and the US Park Service if they are not specifically granted under Section 8 of Article I of the Constitution.
Congress can do this mainly because they are allowed to borrow money on the credit of the U.S. And because it is a government job so they will get paid with government money which congress has a lot of control over and the money the are getting paid with is usually tax money which congress has control over
ReplyDeleteThe congress can create these services because they fall under general welfare. I believe this makes sense because these organizations keep forests and acres of land healthy providing a better future for the people of our country.
ReplyDeleteCongress can do this because in the Constitution it doesn't specifically say they can't create these agencies. It's the basic argument that we have had since the beginning of the creation of our Constitution, loose construction and strict construction. Our Congress is abiding by the loose construction belief so they can do whatever the Constitution doesn't specifically state.
