American History I is discussing the exploits of Andrew Jackson, the Industrial Revolution, and Manifest Destiny.
EXTRA CREDIT: While discussing the Industrial Revolution, we mentioned some of the effects that this development had on American Society. In your opinion, what was the most important or significant impact on American Society as a result of the Industrial Revolution? And more importantly, why do you think this?
I think the most significant impact from the industrial revolution, would be the advancements made, and the doors that opened up for inventors to create the beginnings of what we have in our lives today. I think this is important, because without the assembly line, we would not be able to have mass productions of anything, like cars, or clothing. We would still be living like people were then. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteI think the most significant impact on American society as a result of the Industrial Revolution was the development of machinery. The development of machinery led to the need for more workers to operate the machinery and crated greater need for urban workers in factories. This led to urbanization as people moved closer to the factories where they worked and cities began to develop with the large populations.
ReplyDeleteI think that the most significant impact on the American society due to Industrial Revolution is urbanization. As cities grew and became more populous, the economy grew, laying the foundation for the U.S.A. today.
ReplyDeleteThe invention that I think had the most effective impact on America during and after the Industrial Revolution was the Railroad system. It created a means of transporting products and goods, which boosted the economy. Much of what needed to be exported was mass-produced by the newly introduced factories as well. The trains were enhanced with steam power, a new reliable energy source that created more jobs for cheaper labour costs. This network of transportation also greatly increased the amount of people emanating from the eastern areas and into the west. This was something almost every president wanted before and during this time. The trains allowed the country to expand in almost every way, and has continued to last, as we still use trains and even some of the same lines.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the most important impact of the Industrial Revolution is that it caused America to be less rural. Jobs in factories began to bring people to live in towns to work. This caused bigger cities to form, which has effected America. I think this is significant because without this change, America might still be spread out and more rural in places that it otherwise wouldn't be.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the most important or significant impact on American Society as a result of the Industrial Revolution was the need for better transportation and communication because it brought about new inventions that not only helped with the growing cities, but also helped with the expansion starting out west.
ReplyDeleteI think the increase in job opportunities had the biggest effect on American society. The increase in job opportunities caused cities to grow, creating a more urban society, much like today's.
ReplyDeleteI think the most important impact of the industrial revolution was the increase of transportation. The steam engine made transportation much easier and led way to the model t car, which eventually led to our cars today.
ReplyDeleteI think the most important impact the Industrial Revolution had on American society was that things were no longer handmade. Everything was machine made and nothing had authenticity. Products were produced in mass amounts and no longer individually. People no long took the care to make things specially.
ReplyDeleteI think the steam engine had the greatest impact on life. It may not have been so immediate and drastic, but the ability to build machines that did not require manpower to operate changed peoples lives. It changed how things were produced. It also changed transportation.
ReplyDeleteI think that most significant impact on American Society from the Industrial Revolution was the truly the change in the economy and the growth in population. This made it so many more inventions were created and started kind of chain reaction of inventions. People were able to piggy back off others inventions.
ReplyDeleteI think that the most important one was the demand for better transportation and communication, because I think this helped open the west and allowed to move people long distances in a shorter period of time.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the most important impact the American Revolution had on the American society was the Transportation. With vehicles we were able to expand and move out west. We could carry more things because of the vehicles the Industrial Revolution.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the most important thing that the Industrial revolution brought us was the vehicles. This helped us with the expansion out west. And we were able to carry more items for the expansion, and were able to to this in much less time than before.
ReplyDeleteI think that the biggest impact that the industrial revolution had on the United States was the increase in jobs. It helped many of the cities grow, and created a society much like the one that is seen today.
