One of the most important inventions to me would be the photograph. Photos can tell stories and give out important information. Much of our history is told from old photos, without them we would not know near as much as we do about the past. The first photograph was invented in the 1820s by Nicephore Niepce,a french man. He had the idea to coat papers in light sensitive chemicals. This took 8 hours total to get a photo. Since 8 hours was a long time to stand for one picture Niepce started to work with a man named Louis Daguerre. They worked together to improve Niepce's design. After Niepce's death in 1833 Daguerre took over his work.

One invention that I believe to be one of the most significant invention from the late 18th century until present would be the invention of automobiles. Automobiles get us to where we want to go and what we want to send faster. It has helped transportation of supplies easier and faster. The first car was invented in the 1700s, but they didn't actually start becoming big until the late 1800s.
