American History I is currently discussing World War II. Its causes, its battles, and its effects.
EXTRA CREDIT: 1. Discuss what you consider the most important cause to WWII and why?, or
2. Discuss how a dictator is often able to control the majority of their population? (aka "The Wave", and "Rise of Hitler")
One of the main causes of WWII is Hitler he wanted World power, and to exterminate the Jews most of Germany was with him but the world was not.
ReplyDelete1. What I consider the most important cause to WWII is when Hitler gained control of the Nazis of Germany. He allied with Japan which gave him even more control.
ReplyDelete2. A dictator persuades uneducated public. Making them think it is someone else's fault. Turning people away and not thinking for themselves

Alliances were the most important cause of making it be a world war. Without that, there would have been a few wars between just two or three countries. Because of the alliances, every major world power got involved and couldn't get out of it. A potential resolution to the war required getting a half-dozen major world powers involved and satisfying all of them, too, so that's a major reason why World War I ended with an armistice and just continued a few years later. It would have been a lot easier if only two countries were involved and they just worked things out between them. Even at the end of WWII, four different countries divided up Berlin and the rest of Germany between them, and there were all kinds of power plays between world powers in Asia, too. Entanglements like the alliance situation magnified and prolonged all of the war's problems more than any other single factor.
ReplyDeletedictaters have much influence if the right words are used and they can also promouse a bunch of stuff to gain more power
ReplyDelete1. I believe that the most contributing cause to WWII was imperialism. When Hitler started invading other countries he began setting off a chain reaction with allies of those countries. With his urge to take over all of those countries he brought down upon him many more angry countries which resulted in a world war.
ReplyDelete2. It is amazing how a dictator can control his people without them even realizing it. The dictator gives the population a sense of power through discipline. When people start to fall under the influence of this rush they feel by being disciplined they lose track of what they are actually doing. Many more people join this simply because they want to be a part of a group. Nobody wants to be the outsider of a group of people, and you get a sense of family through being part of something with many people. So the dictator can control his people by giving them a sense of power through discipline, and a sense of community.
A dictator uses unique tactics to control much of the population. He convinces the people that his cause is good, by actually doing good things or speaking of goods things that will come. People start to believe him and he doesn't tell the whole truth or he hides it somehow. A community is created where everyone works for the whole and everyone gives their all for the greater cause. The greater cause is really the dictator.
ReplyDelete1) I consider Hitler to be the main reason for WW2. He wanted to get revenge on all the countries that defeated Germany in WW1 and gain world power. He brainwashed most of Germany to think that anyone who believed differently than he did were terrible people who don't support their country.
ReplyDelete2) A dictator can control most of the population by making them believe that they are a part of something good for their country. Anyone who was different or not a part of the Nazi party were put into concentration camps or even killed. He controlled them by disciplinary force for his troops and used the community to work together.
1. I think the most important causes of WW2 was the treaty of Versailles. If you look closely at the effects it had on Germany, you would see why Hitler was so power hungry. The treaty had completely taken away Germany's pride. They took the blame for all of WW1. Their economy collapsed, and they weren't looked highly upon. Hitler wanted to regain control of the country and restore it. Does that mean he had the best intentions in mind, I don't know. However, he had a cause, good or bad, and Germany was desperate for a leader. If the Treaty was not completely focused on Germany's faults, maybe Hitler would not have ever taken power, and the people wouldn't have been so desperate for change.
ReplyDeleteA Dictator is often able to control the majority of their population by getting personal and putting ideas into peoples heads. If a dictator can convince just a crowd, how many people can the crowd further convince? If you say, be a part of this club, we are planning on making it world wide, people get interested. If you say, lets have our own symbol and motto, people think it is cool. It gives them some significance. People always want to feel a part of something. But, it is when the people are in such a low spot and need it the most that it seems easiest to control them. Tell them you will make things better, and make them feel like they have a cause. People will really believe you. People get desperate. People will want to make the world follow in those footsteps if it means change. That's when the recruitment happens. If you have an idea that if you are part of the movement and listen to a leader that things will change, then, if your friends aren't doing it, well, there must be something wrong. Not with you or your organization, but with your friends outlook on what is going on. Tension forms and people feel even more protective over their leader and what they are part of. That is exactly what Hitler did. He gave Desperate people something to hold on to, something to hope for, and controlled them like a bunch of toy soldiers.

Their economy collapsed, and a result of it was being frowned on. Hitler wanted to regain control of the country and restore it. However, he had a cause and Germany was desperate for a leader. Hitler presented himself to have great power and thought that everyone liked his decisions. But didn't have any major power to be afraid of.
ReplyDelete2. A dictator is able to influence the way that people think and do things for a number of reasons. One of the ways that someone is able to influence people is by making them feel like they're a part of something bigger and better and that is more important than themselves. To make them feel connected and as one, working together. Another way that someone, such as Hitler, was able to get people to think the same way as him, was by getting the people that are in this sort of "community" to think that they all have common interests and the same ideas about morals. Discipline, for example, is something that most would agree with about being a key factor to success. If everyone in a group share the same morals and ways of life, then they are more likely to listen to the leader that has brought them all together by playing on their thoughts that they are better than others because they are a part of the community he has made.
ReplyDeleteA Dictator can manipulate the population in a number of different ways. One of the most successful ways is through propaganda. They will tell the population what they want to hear and they will give explanations to things that might not be true. In Hitlers case he told the Germans that the Jews were the cause of them losing World War 1. This lead to the hatred of Jews through out Germany and many Germans started liking Hitler. Many of his Idea became far more out there but the Germans went along with it because they trusted Hitler and his plans even if the things he was doing wasn't morally right. There country was also going through and Depression and they wanted someone to get them out of the depression. The Germans saw Hitler as their way out of the Depression. This was another reason why Germans were blind to his doings. He also was very good at making speeches so he was able to get a crowd excited about something that might be not so good. I think that Hitler was able to manipulate peoples thinking which lead to people fogging up there morals and not really thinking about what they were doing.

I thought the most important cause to WWII was the Holocaust. I believe this is the most important cause because it was a mass murder of 6 million Jews. This event effect millions of people, and have scared themselves, and their families until this day. All of those people were Innocent, and they were murdered for their beliefs. Jews weren't the only people who were effected by the Holocaust. Gypsies and gays were brought to the concentration camps and got murdered for their way of life. It was the fact that the Jews were brutally murdered that makes the Holocaust so barbaric. It was a mass murder and they were tortured in the concentration camps.
