American History I

American History I students have been discussing and reading about World War I.   Its causes, and the events that led to the war.

EXTRA CREDIT: As we discussed, the causes of World War I are essentially the causes of war in general.  Of these major causes that we discussed, which is probably the most important and why?  Can you see any of these causes in future wars?  If so, explain.

  1. One of the main events that caused the World War was the assassination of the Archduke. The assassination brought on Austria-Hungary's declaration of the war against Serbia. This also caused the Central Powers which included Germany and Austria-Hungary and the Allies of World War I. I can see this happening again because assassinations of people with high power have caused wars before just not as big as this one. There are many people that are always unhappy with the Presidents. Maybe not in the next couple of years but in the far future, another assassination could happen that would cause a war.
