  1. The 1920s are called the Roaring Twenties because during that era there was lots of excitement. Considering that a war had just ended and the troops had been dismissed. Now, they had time to spend with their families. Also, the blacks were in the whirlwind of the Harlem Renaissance. All the blacks were free, meaning that they were no longer slaves. The main reason why the Roaring Twenties is called what it is, is because the people of the 1920s who had so much to say.
The Roaring Twenties also had illegal pubs called "speak easies" that sold alcohol to people. When alcohol was illegal in the 1920s it was called the Prohibition. Also, the speak easies attracted people who involved themselves in illegal acts such as Prostitution Gambling.

  2. The 1920's are known as the roaring 20's because so much was happening at the same time. For one all the prohibition was still going on. Entertainment and technology started in the 1920's, which was one of the better thing's in the 1920's. Roaring could mean all the laws that were being passed and how many people were doing illegal things just to get alcohol.

  3. I think this decade is commonly referred to as the Roaring 20s because furring this era(1920s) there was a lot of excitement going on. The war had just gotten over and soldiers were now home with their families, and there were no longer slaves. This time was also known as the Jazz Age and the Dollar Decade. Durring this time many new entertainment sprung. For example silent films were created, music such as Jazz was new, and the first radio station was out. At this time there were shorter work hours and higher wages. People had more time to get out and do things. There were also new technology created; as said before silent films, radio stations, and the boom box. As you can see things were pretty crazy.

  5. The 1920s are called the roaring twenties because of everything that was happening at the time. So many new things were created and new ideas were being shared. The war was over and the soldiers were home and people were happy about the war being over. It was like a start over for everyone. Music became a huge part of the lives of people, along with a lot of other technology. People could have fun and not have to worry about the things that were worried about before, they could live.

  6. We have a lot of new things happening. New technology and a lot of exciting things. The prohibition and the start of entertainment were all happening at the same time. Many illegal things were happening with the prohibition and all the new laws being passed.

  7. The 1920's are called the roaring 20's because the war had just ended and all the troops were back with there family's and they had nothing to do with them so all kinds of new entertainment was invented.

  8. I believe the 1920's were given this title because our society was roaring with victory and new inventions. The recent victory in Europe had our economy booming, and people used their money by trying and inventing new things. The prohibition had people bootlegging and consuming illegal alcohol. This led to new types of dance, and music. With all the things that were happening during this time period I believe roaring is a suitable title.
