Radical, Moderate, Conservative, Reactionary discussion and the American Revolution. Since 1/3 of the colonists were radical, how could they win when they don't have the majority of support of the colonists? If 1/3 were also moderate and 1/3 were conservative, the support for independence would have to shift from the moderates to the radical side. We also reviewed the various advantages of the British and the colonists in the war.
